Send In The SAS With Spectre Miniatures New Releases
March 4, 2025 by brennon
Spectre Miniatures are back at the bleeding edge of Modern Warfare on the tabletop with some new figures for you to throw into your 28mm wargames. The SAS are front and centre of this particular set of releases, with two teams for you to choose from.
SAS CQB Element // Spectre Miniatures
First up is the SAS CQB Element, which stands for close-quarters battle. Using all their knowledge of military kit, Spectre has designed this set to represent a team of soldiers who might be engaged in hostage rescue, counter terrorism or high-value target kill/capture. All of them are armed with the KS-1 rifle, and they carry a mixture of kit which would suit the individual soldiers' needs and preferences.
For example, they carry a minimal amount of magazines because the operation is meant to be over quickly. They also wear a Glock sidearm alongside fragmentation, smoke and flash grenades. Current and former UKSF operators helped make these miniatures as realistic as possible, which is a neat touch!
As well as the CQB Element above, there is also the Low Profile Element.
SAS Low Profile Element // Spectre Miniatures
This team would typically work as you see here with four soldiers making themselves as low profile as possible without just walking around in their civvies! You could imagine these folks keeping quiet in a vehicle before busting out and hunting down their target. They also have no visual identifiers, so they are probably working in an environment where you would want deniability!
What's nice about the Spectre range is that when you see one of their new releases, you often tend to start thinking about scenarios that they could be a part of. The first squad we looked at is clearly going to be busting into an embassy and saving people, whilst this set will be hunting down a key target, perhaps here on the streets of the UK.
Corpo Security!
Mixing things up, we also have some Corporate Security that you could drop into a setting where perhaps some ex-soldiers are now watching over some high-level executive. Equally, they could be protecting someone pretty nasty and your soldiers have to deal with these mercenaries.
Corporate Secturity Team // Spectre Miniatures
They might be wearing fine clothing, but that shouldn't mean you have your guard down. They are still armed with KRISS vector .45 SMGs, which give off that high-tech aesthetic. I'm sure they still have some skills they learned in the field that are important for keeping their target safe. Looking at them closer, they are most assuredly bad guys!
Scenario Vehicles
Lastly, a couple of vehicles were added to the Spectre Miniatures collection. One of these might perhaps speak to who that security team is guarding...
The Edison // Spectre Miniatures
Luxury SUV // Spectre Miniatures
The Edison might be a bit showy, but it can be armoured, so it at least keeps the occupant safe. The Luxury SUV is a bit more understated but does the job. It's the kind of vehicle that you would see dignitaries driven away in from state functions. Get a few of these and turn them into a motorcade for a cool scenario driving through a built-up area.
Currently, all of the miniatures that you see here are available as both physical and digital releases, so you can choose how you get them from Spectre. The Luxury SUV doesn't specify, however so I would imagine it's a physical miniature at the moment.
Are you going to be picking up some of this kit from Spectre?

Corporate Secturity Team? Miami Vice reboot? XD
The Edison… how about no?
The Edison? I already have some skip/dumpster miniatures somewhere.
Good-looking stuff, I especially like the corpos. Plus, I don’t care what anyone says, I dig the Cybertruck. 😁
It would look right at home in Mega City 1.
I have never bought anything from this company. Things need to change very soon. I might get a new team for Zona Alpha.
Missed opportunity to call that car the Swasticar … or the Dumpster Van
That Luxury SUV screams ‘Torchwood’ … 😉
Looking at the corpo security team I’m thinking the headline should have been: send in the clowns
😀
They have a Swastitruck! How awful.
