Seb Games has now released their new Starter Set for those wanting to dive into the new edition of Urban War. The Strike Team Actions Gamebox is now available for you to pick up which includes two forces of SioCast miniatures in 28mm for you to start your Sci-Fi skirmishes.
Strike Team Actions Starter Set // Urban War
Inside the set, you'll find two balanced forces featuring the Viridians and the Junkers alongside two brand-new special characters. There is also a free copy of the Urban War 3rd Edition Rulebook (softcover) that will give you all the rules you need to know.
Major Lillian Ironburn // Urban War
On the one side, you have the Viridians led by Major Lilliane Ironburn. They have a vast commercial empire which uses its powerful armed forces to ensure that their trade routes and policies are enacted. Overwhelming and superior firepower is the name of the day, as they prefer not to end up having to send back records of heavy troop losses to the electorate.
Viridian Colonial Marines // Urban War
Their miniatures include the Major Lilliane Ironburn alongside a set of four Viridian Colonial Marines and a Viridian Colonial Marine with HGR. As mentioned, they are all SioCast miniatures and give you a flavour of the faction and how they fit into the wider world of Urban War.
On the other side, you have the fearsome Decurion Drusus leading his force of Junkers.

The Junker Empire is run using ruthless and brutal authority. Power is everything and to that end, they make use of Convicts who serve as their Legionaries on the battlefield.
Junkers Convict Legionaries // Urban War
Like with the Viridian set, the Junkers come with a special character alongside a set of four basic troops, the Junkers Convict Legionaries. They are supported by the Junkers Convict Legionary Lancer who will give you an elite option.
The rest of the boxed set features a counters sheet for use in gameplay, a terrain sheet for setting up your first games, two quick reference sheets (yes!) and two d10 dice. Finally, you'll also get the free Triad Mercenary miniature, who can fight for whoever has the most money.

If you want more from Urban War, there are loads of additional miniatures and faction boxes available from the folks at Seb Games. They have lots of miniatures from previous editions that are all viable for the new edition and if you missed out on something back in the day, the likelihood is that Seb Games has it in their collection.

There are no Urbi’s in that box!
maybe the urbis are at orbi ? 😉
Any news on the Neo Iskandrian minis, there were always my favourite when I was a kid but didn’t pick the up at the time. Shame about the Age of Tyrants as well that was a super cool looking game but I’m not sure where that ended up.
Is this a “what if GW hadn’t gone for skulls and still stuck to 80’s design, but focused on rules instead” kind of thing ?
This was a “20 years ago, the makers of the VOID wargame produced a skirmish game, and that game has goen through a couple of owners since, but the models currently being produced are still those original sculpts from 2004” thing.
Urban War was my first non-GW game back in the day and I’ve still got a soft spot for it.
I’m sure I remembered this for the dark ages of my youth! The comments confirmed it. Very nostalgic.
