Warhammer 40K’s Thousand Sons & More Coming This Weekend
May 12, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop will be taking pre-orders this weekend for another of the Chaos factions joining the newest edition of Warhammer 40,000. Codex: Thousand Sons is on the way alongside a new Battleforce and Combat Patrol.
Codex: Thousand Sons // Warhammer 40,000
The Codex for the new edition covers the new plans of the sorcerers of the Thousand Sons. You'll find more lore, wargear options, unit choices and give different Detachments which will give you various ways of playing your Thousand Sons. You could have hordes of Tzaangors or march forth under the relentless boot of the Rubicae. You'll also get full Combat Patrol rules, Crusade options and more.
There is also the Collector's Edition version for those devout followers of Tzeentch and the Thousand Sons.
Collector's Edition - Codex: Thousand Sons // Warhammer 40,000
This is a lavish option for collectors but comes with the Codex, art prints, a medallion fragment that fits with those of the other Chaos powers, six double-sided metal objective markers, Strategem Cards and all of your Datasheets. All in a two-part slipcase. Lavish but perhaps befitting the Thousand Sons.
For those not diving into the Collector's Edition, you can also get the Datasheet Cards and Dice separately.

The dice look rather nice and as a bonus, they won't go out of date as soon as the Codex launches. Still, if you don't care particularly about rule changes and just want to play from the Codex, then you can get the Datasheet Cards and be sorted for the edition.
Thousand Sons Army Options
If you want some miniatures to build your Thousand Sons collection, then you could get the new Battleforce.
Warpflame Thrallband Battleforce // Warhammer 40,000
This will be the first place that you'll be able to get the new Sekhetar Robots for the Thousand Sons, new for this edition of Warhammer 40,000. It also comes with three Exalted Sorcerers, five Scarab Occult Terminators and ten Rubric Marines. Obviously, whilst this is a limited run boxed set, the Sekhetar Robots will be available later on separately, so you don't need to rush.
There is also the Combat Patrol, which is a solid starting point for someone wanting to get into Warhammer 40,000.
Combat Patrol: Thousand Sons // Warhammer 40000
This will come with new rules in the Codex and also online over on Warhammer Community. It features a deadly Daemon Prince, a Tzaangor Shaman, three Tzaangor Enlightened and ten Rubric Marines. A decent set of core troops and something special for you to use when forming the basis of your new Thousand Sons army.
Are you going to be picking up the Thousand Sons for Warhammer 40,000?

Those collectors edition books with the 1/4 chaos symbols were all bought by flippers, and were on eBay at double or more within minutes. Complete scam.
I’ll get a codex, I have a stack of TSons to build. Won’t even try to much else.
Also, I am not a fan of the white robot things. Maybe they need better paint or something.
Book, new cards, dice; maybe the white robots because you KNOW they’ll be all buffed. I have everything else to make an army…
I’m all for collectors and the value of things increasing, blah blah blah, but scalpers are the scum of the earth.
